Many of you may have already heard or better yet seen that Feeney Road is getting a much needed facelift. The road was pulverized the week of August 17, 2020 and now gravel is getting laid down on it now in hopes of new blacktop in 2021. Will update on this at a future date.
The Great Divide Ambulance Service has elected not to Renew their contract with the Town of Marengo along with other various Townships in Ashland County, thus ending their contract on December 31, 2020. The Town of Marengo is currently in talks to secure some sort of service. Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
Members of the Ashland County Board have voted to cancel the 2020 Ashland County Fair, saying it was not possible to hold the fair in a safe manner during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fair, which has been an end-of-summer tradition in Ashland County for more than 100 years, would have marked its 50th annual horseshoe tournament. Although at the meeting, the board passed a motion to look into holding a motorsports weekend, it was later determined to cancel this idea as well. Fair organizers said they would now plan for a return of the county fair in 2021.
There will be a "Special Meeting" tomorrow night at 6pm to approve the "Feeney Road" with Nels Ritola to start pulverizing the road in preparation of new blacktop in 2021 or 2022.
The 2020 Annual Meeting will be held at 6:00pm with the July 2020 Monthly Meeting to follow.
